The PESI ADHD Conference is just a few days away, and I couldn’t be more excited! Formerly known as the PESI ADHD Summit, this event has been rebranded to reflect a broader commitment to making ADHD education more accessible and impactful—not just for professionals but also for those navigating ADHD in their daily lives, including non-ADHD partners like me.

This conference is a staple on my calendar because it balances practical, actionable insights with the latest expert research. Whether you’re looking to improve your relationship, deepen your understanding of ADHD, or gain new tools to tackle challenges, this conference offers something for everyone.

For this year, I think it’s a must-attend event for ADHD couples and a peek at the agenda I’m most looking forward to.

Who Is PESI?

PESI is a leader in continuing education for mental health professionals, known for offering evidence-based, practical programming. While their primary audience is clinicians, therapists, and educators, this event is just as valuable for non-ADHD partners like me.

Why? Because the insights shared by PESI’s ADHD experts give me tools to better navigate my ADHD partner’s symptoms, challenges, and strengths—sometimes at a moment’s notice. Their focus on bridging clinical expertise with lived experiences makes this conference a unique and accessible resource for anyone supporting someone with ADHD.

What Is the PESI ADHD Conference About?

The PESI ADHD Conference is a two-day virtual event packed with keynote addresses, and interactive Q&A with presenters at the end of every session. The conference aims to:

  • Equip attendees—whether professionals or family members—with tools to address ADHD challenges in relationships, parenting, and daily life.

  • Bridge the gap between clinical strategies and real-world experiences.

  • Provide long-term resources, including handouts and session recordings, for ongoing support.

This year’s agenda is particularly valuable for ADHD couples, with sessions on money management, couple’s therapy, and cultivating well-being—all areas that can make or break relationships.

Sessions I’m Most Excited About

Here are three sessions I think are especially valuable for ADHD couples:

1. ADHD Couples Therapy from the Inside Out

Presenter: Ari Tuckman, PsyD

Couples therapy is something many ADHD couples consider at some point, but not everyone knows what to expect. Some partners worry that therapy will involve the therapist taking sides, while others are simply unfamiliar with how it works. That’s why Ari Tuckman’s session is a standout.

Through a mock couple’s therapy session, he walks participants through what couples and therapists think and feel during the process. This session demystifies therapy and gives couples the confidence to take that first step, knowing what to expect. Ari delivered a similar session at the CHADD conference and I really appreciate the fact I can be an observer to see how Ari balances help needed for both partners. If your partner is on the fence for going to ADHD couples therapy, perhaps this mock therapy session could help your partner see this could be beneficial for both.

2. ADHD from a Whole-Person Perspective

Presenter: Sharon Saline, PsyD

As a non-ADHD partner, I’ve often fallen into the trap of focusing solely on my partner’s challenges while overlooking his strengths and overall well-being. Sharon Saline’s session is all about shifting this perspective.

By exploring strategies for supporting ADHD partners holistically, this session will help us learn to foster happiness, confidence, and growth—not just fix the struggles. I’m looking forward to insights that can make both of us thrive together.

3. ADHD & Money: Why It Matters and How You Can Help

Presenter: Christine M. Hargrove, PhD, MDiv

Money is often a sensitive topic for couples, and ADHD can add another layer of complexity. This session dives into the unique financial challenges faced by people with ADHD and offers practical strategies to overcome them.

Dr. Hargrove’s intervention framework helps identify and address the invisible barriers that impede financial well-being. These tools aren’t just helpful for managing money—they can also reduce relationship stress and create more balance for couples.

Conclusion

The PESI ADHD Conference continues to be an incredible resource for non-ADHD partners and ADHD couples alike. With its accessible resources and expert insights it’s a must-attend event for anyone looking to strengthen their relationship and better understand ADHD.

Whether you’re curious about topics like money management, couple’s therapy, or holistic well-being, this conference has something valuable to offer. I’m excited to attend this year’s event and can’t wait to share my key takeaways with you afterward!
